This is a golden-era Steinway Model A-III, known for its larger soundboard, longer string scale, and concert-capable bass response. It retains its original soundboard and action, with refinshed case and plate, and replaced strings that significantly improve tone and stability. The piano has been professionally evaluated and serviced (March 30, 2026) by David Amendola, a respected Bay Area Steinway technician. The service include treatment for Verdigris using Naptha and Protek--the piano plays smoothly and responsively, with a pleasing dynamic range. Piano was moved from Atherton to Oakland by well-known McCrea's Piano Moving (Greg McCrea) and is currently stored in its climate controlled & secure location.
