Description: Steingraeber & Sohne’s pianos are widely regarded as simply the best pianos built today. As the oldest piano company still in the hands of its founders, Steingraeber crafts only 92 to 97 instruments per year. Each instrument (Upright or Grand) receives the same meticulous attention to detail. Every component used is tested for durability AND harmonicity, ensuring that every material and part enhances sound and resonance.
The Steingraeber 138, at nearly 55 inches, is the world’s tallest upright piano in production today. Calling it an “upright” seems inadequate as its performance capabilities exceed all but the finest Parlor (6’ or larger) grand pianos. This piano incorporates the Steingraeber patented SFM mechanism (which replicates gravity in a grand piano) and this 138 simply does not compromise performance while preserving space. Additionally, the piano has Steingraeber’s “Twist and Change” capability, which incorporates rare inlaid exotic wood that will take your breath away, or can simply be reversed to be a simple black piano. With a true Sostenuto (middle pedal) and Larenim keytops, we challenge you to find anything superior. Currently, a 138 comparably equipped (if you can find one) retails for $86,995 (plus tariff adjustment). We have only one at $59,900 (Dealers Welcome)
