Description: This magnificent 6' 11" (211 cm) Model B Classic Grand piano is often referred to by pianists as “the perfect piano.” It is a wonderfully balanced and versatile instrument that does extremely well in refined homes, teaching studios, and mid-sized venues .Known for its rich bass, the Model B measures just shy of 7 feet long. It has the acoustic advantages of long strings and a large soundboard of its larger Steinway companions while remaining the sensible choice for an in-home piano.

This piano was originally built in 1971 in New York, and has only had one owner here in the DC area and was lovingly cared for its entire history. Recently acquired and fully restored to its original glory by the Encore Piano of DC team. This includes a complete action rebuild replacing all Teflon parts and bushings in the action. The action was professionally regulated and voiced by the lead technician for the Kennedy Center. He will also touch up the tuning, regulation and voicing once in the home or venue as part of the package.

We then took the extra steps of replacing the keytops, polishing all the brass hardware and giving the entire piano a deep cleaning and refresh. The cabinet is in wonderful shape with the original "closed pore" ebony finish from the Steinway factory. Overall the piano looks gorgeous.

Restoration included:

1. Disassemble the cabinet and parts.
2. New brilliant white key coverings.
3. Finish touch up in the original color and sheen with ebony lacquer.
4. Tighten the underlevers and check the felt bushings along with the damper guide rail.
5. Rebush/replace teflon action parts.
6. Chip tune the piano strings to concert pitch.
7. Remove original felt from the damper blocks and refinish.
8. Cut and install new damper felt.
9. Regulate dampers to the back of the key and the sustain pedal.
10. Shape, file and space the hammers.

14. Refine damper regulation after they have settled.
15. Clean and buff all cabinet hardware and assemble piano.

17. Professionally transport and set-up the piano in your home or stage
