Hand made in Paris, France, Pleyel was Frederick Chopin's favorite piano. The Model F is a 5'4' (1.64 m) baby grand, called a 'quart de queue' or quarter tail in France. Hammer felt is workable, pin block holding pitch, action and keyboard in excellent working order.
The case is finished with French polish diamond-bookmatched walnut veneers. Some sunlight bleaching visible at the tail end and front right corner of the lid (see photos). The thick clear top coat on the lid is lifting at the tail, also due to sunlight exposure. Plate has some stains and blemishes and the soundboard shows light scuff marks from being inexpertly cleaned at some point.
