This is the re-designed and considerably improved Chickering Piano, incorporating some of the features of the Artist Series. Bearing the Chickering name, it is built in the United States. Assembly work was probably done in Conway, Arkansas and the pianos were built in Trumann, Arkansas.

It is a petite grand at only 4'10' but it does have the distinctive Accujust hitch pins at the back of the plate. It has always amazing how good the bass sounds on that little grand for it to be so small.

These Chickering grands tend to have a quick attack and short sustain and musicians like them. The build quality was above average.

We purchased the piano from the original owner in August of 2010. It was made in 1996.

According to comments on Pianoworld.com posting 1389806, the Chickerings made in 1996 were very good pianos. They were highly rated by Larry Fine in his 2001 Piano Book.

Sound wise the Chickering should have a much more pleasing bass and low tenor than the Yamaha G2.
