Magnificent 1868 Chickering Square Grand Piano
This is a beautiful 1868 Chickering Square Grand Piano. Full, rich tone (especially the bass). Original ivories and ebonies. Strung-over metal soundboard in great condition. Rosewood case has only a few nicks. There is one just like this in the Smithsonian; it was the parlor piano of President Lincoln. Needs tuning more often than a newer piano. Buyer responsible for pick-up and shipping (850 lbs.). I bought it from a pianist in Milwaukee and it shipped to southwest Ohio just fine. She said she preferred its tone to a Steinway. This is a bona fide Civil War antique which is a beautiful piece of furniture as well as a wonderful musical instrument.
