From 1850 until 1982, Hardman pianos were manufactured in the United States. It was the official piano of the Metropolitan Opera and the choice of many professionals. The fact that the Hardman name is utilized by companies importing pianos from China today is a testament to rich history of the company. Of course the Asian production pianos have no association whatsoever with the fine, hand-made pianos actually produced by Hardman, like this one.
The instrument looks beautiful and has a warm tone typical of the finest American made pianos from years past. It is also a very attractive instrument visually. The action is responsive and has been regulated. It is a great find when discovering a piano of this level that is in such fine condition - the refinement process produces such wonderful results!
