1957 Model B, Gorgeous Mahogany, Flawless Soundboard
This fantastic Model B spent the first 45 years in the parlor of a historic home in Erie, PA- apparently rarely-played and mostly covered up. That would explain the gorgeous original mahogany finish and over-all condition- it looks like a new piano. In 2002, it was purchased by a university choral director and moved to Ohio. The action (pre-teflon) was tweaked by Steinway tech and concert pianist Christopher Durrenberger, who also replaced the bass strings with the finest GC (German-wound) strings. The soundboard is flawless, and the sound is huge, with rich bass.
