This is a Beautiful Steinway, Satin Ebony,Model 'B', Serial# 496980, built in 1985. I am a 'Steinway Factory Trained Technician' with 36 yrs. of experience, including more than 30 yrs. as a Steinway Technician (Contractor) for Sherman Clay in San Francisco,Ca. I have performed the replacement of many Steinway Actions through the years,as well as re-stringing and maintenance of Steinway concert Grands for the concert department here in San Francisco and have completed the following work on this "B":
Re-strung with new pin block; Re-guild and letter Harp; polish and seal soundboard; Install New Dampers; Replace Action, (using all new Steinway Hamburg Parts and Steinway N.Y. Hammers for tone and balance; Re-bush all keys; New Back rail cloth and Key punchings; New Regulating buttons and screws; Polish all key pins and capstans).... The finish is Satin Ebony and has been professionally detailed and rubbed out and looks like new. This is a very powerful 'B' with an excellent Soundboard! No Cracks OR Compression Ridges!
