This piano was rebuilt and refinished approximately 30 years ago. The quality of the rebuilding matches the meticulous original craftsmanship of the piano. The Baldwin Model E has a wider tail (like on Mason & Hamlin pianos) for a big, rich tone that belies its size.

The piano has the original, real (not plastic) key tops in wonderful condition. The tone is rich and fat, yet with incredible clarity. The action is responsive and not overly heavy. This is a great example of the best of the American pianos manufactured at a time when there were over 1000 companies competing. Baldwin went on to become the #1 piano manufacturer in America. This is a good example of the great work that led them to that position.
