ROBERT NUNNS & CLARK PIANO
ROBERT NUNNS & CLARK PIANO,an exceedingly early example of an American made square grand piano. Unfortunately the serial numbers and corresponding dates for these early pianos are a bit vague. Based on the design and construction of your piano, and by the way the company name is labeled, the piano appears to be circa about 1835. We estimate that only about 10% of surviving square pianos today are from before the Civil War era – most are from the 1860s – 1870’s period. American made square pianos as early as the 1830s are definitely of museum caliber and deserve the finest restoration and preservation possible.
