Fully Restored Henry F. Miller Grand
I rescued the Henry F. Miller from an old church in West Philadelphia while they were remodeling the church and was about to dispose of it. This piano preserves the American heritage of piano building. While Henry F. Miller pianos are now manufactured in China, by Pearl River pianos, this one was first built in 1904 in Boston, Mass. when piano making was king in America. It has been fully restored with a new solid spruce soundboard with recapped bridges and a new rock maple pinblock. All action parts, including wippens, hammers, shanks and flanges, let-off buttons have been replaced. As you can see from the pictures, it has been refinished in a satin cherry finish. The keys have been recovered and rebushed. Besides being a thing of beauty, the Miller has a full and robust sound. Besides the new soundboard adding to its rich sound, the original construction of the piano’s case makes a big difference in the production of its resonance. A complete climate control system has been installed. For the price, this piano is a rare deal. Call 215-943-8210 for an appointment to see the piano and try it out.
