Steinway B Grand Piano For Sale
This is a rare Steinway B ( 6'10 1/2') for sale from 1897, serial number 87027. Barbara & Hal Curtis bought this piano 40+ years ago for Barbara as her personal piano. Barbara was a renown jazz pianist. Her brother was Ralph Sutton and both of them toured the world playing boogie, jazz and barrel house piano in concert halls. She performed regionally around northern CA with her jazz band for decades to regular standing ovations.

The front panel still has the original Steinway logo painted on it as well as one of the original angels painted on the long side. This piano was hand painted at the factory instead of having decals or brass inlays.

Barbara had the piano restored about 20 years ago inside and out. It has it's original ivories and logo on the soundboard. The cabinet is a beautiful light mahogany in pristine condition. She loved this piano, taught 100's of students on it and spent many hours playing Fats Waller, Bruebeck, Joplin and so many of the greats.

Barbara loved this piano but because of health issues can no longer play and since she can't, it is time to sell the piano. This piano plays beautifully, has a sweet sound and a wonderful history. I am a family friend helping Hal find the right person who will love and take care of this unique piano. It is still in her music room where it has been for 40 years.
