1956 Steinway Model M Louis XV art case
This rare and gorgeous Steinway came to us from an estate in Southern California where the favorable climate kept it in an excellent state of preservation. The soundboard and structural components of the piano are in perfect condition and there is very little wear on the action and moving parts. The tone and action are superb and this piano will satisfy the most particular musician. The original light walnut finish has a bit of fading and is not perfect, but as the photos show the case is still very attractive as it is. If a new owner is interested we can make arrangements to have it refinished to perfection. Interestingly this piano was signed, presumably when it was new, by John H. Steinway (1917-1989), great-grandson of founder Henry E. Steinway and one time head of Steinway & Sons. These hand carved Louis XV cases are exceedingly rare and this is a superb example.
