1927 Steinway L Painted Case
This beautifully decorated piano has been in the same family since it was purchased new here in San Francisco in 1927. It left the factory with an ebonized cabinet but early in its life it was hand painted in this striking antique style. The painted finish is still in good condition although there are a few chipped spots here and there, and the straight side has some sort of sun or light damage as seen in the photos. This having been said the piano still has a beautiful old world look and with a little touch-up would look beautiful in any environment. The internal parts of the piano are unrestored and all original from 1927, including the ivory keys in perfect condition and the excellent original soundboard. Although a new owner would ideally rebuild the piano, it is playable as is with the unmistakable 'Steinway sound'. Art style Steinways of this type are regularly seen offered at over $100,000 but our price is a tiny fraction of that amount making this rare instrument a true bargain.
