I am the original owner of this magnificent piano and purchased it brand new at the famous Faust Harrison Pianos in New York City in 1998. During the buying process, I traveled all over the northeast in hopes of finding the best piano and the minute I played this Mason & Hamlin, I knew it was the one. To get a second opinion, I asked my good friend and mentor, who was the pianist for the New York Philharmonic, and he absolutely loved it. The action and sound are perfect. The highs are clear and bright while the bass is deep and thunderous. Everything about this piano is excellent despite the few minor exterior finish blemishes. Installed is a Dampp-Chaser system to help regulate the temperature and Humidity. Also included is a full leather adjustable artist bench that I purchased with the piano (price was $1,000). I have babied it from the first day it was delivered to my home. Overall, the piano has not been used very much. Most of my practicing took place in school and on average have played my piano a couple hours a week for the first several years. The hammers show almost no wear at all. When not in use, I keep it fully closed and covered.

Unfortunately, I hurt my right wrist in a car accident about 6 years ago and have been unable to fully enjoy it since. During this time, I have played it maybe 10 times at most but still tuned/serviced it an average of 3 times per year! It is heartbreaking for me to try to sell it and has taken me these 6 years to get myself to place this ad. I am now ready to move on.
