1940's Pre-War  Hamburg Steinway D Concert Grand
This is a 1940's Hamburg Steinway Concert Grand D maintained and serviced by renown piano technician Gerhard Feldmann and more recently Arlan Harris, considered one of the elite Steinway technicians in America.
The piano was completely rebuilt & restored by Klavierhaus in New York City and includes a new custom-fitted Kluge (German Steinway) keyboard. A new soundboard & bridgecaps, pinblock, tuning pins & strings, German Steinway hammers, hammershanks & repetitions, Kluge keyboard & keyframe, backchecks, damper felts, and case-hardware plating were all recently completed.
This particular piano is well known for its deep bass and tremendous sound projection. It is versatile and powerful, yet tonally balanced with exquisite touch. The instrument was recently appraised for $125,000. A new Hamburg Steinway D sells for in excess of $175,000,

This is truly a gorgeous, vintage rare concert-level piano. It was manufactured between 1941 and 1942 and remained in Germany during the WW II years. In 1948 in was shipped to London Steinway and appeared on concert stages there before coming to the United States. It is a true survivor.
